First of all, Happy New Year to You. I wish you love, good health, happiness, wealth, success, and whatever it is you want for this new year.
Overall, 2018 was a good year. It had its ups and downs, that’s for sure, but I think we did well.
The Husband and Baby Girl are in good health. And our cutie patootie dog, Bogart, too! We are happy and living life as it comes. Whatever challenges come our way, we face it and go through it together.
Sadly, my aunt has been diagnosed with a cancer in the beginning of the year. She underwent chemotherapy. We thought everything was going well, but towards the end of the year, the doctors found something in her lungs. It is tough to think of what might happen, but we have high hope and pray all the time for her speedy recovery. My aunt is one of the strongest person I know in the world.
When it comes to friendships, I’ve had to cut off some people in my life. I’m not sad about it – that’s how life goes! Perhaps I will dedicate a post about it here someday. As I’m getting older, I’ve noticed that my perception of friendships has definitely changed!
Professionally, my husband and I know what we want. Things are in progress so that we can finally one day realize our dreams. The Husband and I chose to start from the very beginning and while some might be turned off by the time it takes, I like to carefully go through each step and process. Delayed gratification and self-discipline will make the taste of success even sweeter!
So what are my resolutions for 2019? I have 3. How about you?
1.) Daily Meditation
I want to start meditating every day, even if it’s just 5 minutes per day. I want to take time for myself to block out everything around me and take the time to think of what counts. I’ve always accepted the bad things that have happened in my life (death of my parents, my miscarriages, etc …) but I’ve always questioned the good things in my life (meeting the love of my life at the age of 15, having a super cool kid, supportive colleagues, etc … ) When something good happens to me the first thing that crosses my mind is : why me? Well, why not! I’m hoping that meditation will help me accept this and learn to be more thankful of the good things in my life.
2.) Time Management (or self-control according to the Husband)
I want to learn to be constant with my time. When I’m stagnant, I’m too stagnant. And when I’m active, I’m way too overactive. A lot of things are happening to me career-wise and I think I will definitely need this.
3.) Living environmentally conscious
The pictures are scary. Plastic everywhere. Especially where it shouldn’t be. In the ocean for turtles to choke on, for example. It’s scary and it’s our fault. So personally, I have promised to make changes in my life. No plastic straws – at home and as much as possible out too. That’s my baby step and hopefully soon I’ll be taking bigger steps. If you have any ideas, let me know!
