Netflix and Chill – March 2018

taken from:

Nowadays, when Netflix is mentioned most people know what it is or are even subscribed to it. But 3+ years ago, when it was only beginning in France, no one knew what it was. I kept going on and on about how great it is, but I had no one to talk to. I am so glad that times have changed!

Netflix is my best friend. Sure, I like going out with friends and my family, but …. if you ask me, a perfect night is good food, a good drink, and a good movie / series on Netflix. Unfortunately, I don’t always have the time and if there’s one thing you should know about me is … I binge-watch. I’ve tried watching an episode per day, but it’s just not the same.

Is anyone out there like me??

Anyways …. these are the series I finished in March (I won’t give out too many details):

taken from:

Godless – Season 1

Taking place in the 1880’s in the American West, Godless is the story of an outlaw, his crew, a bad-guy-turned-good, a headstrong woman, a town made up almost entirely of women headed by its mayor. Niceee!

Mindhunter – Season 1

Mindhunter is a crime drama television series based in the late 1970’s. This follows the story of 2 FBI agents as they visit and interview imprisoned serial killers. Through these interviews, they hope to try to understand the killer and his mind and use this useful information for ongoing and future cases. This is quite interesting as in the 1970’s, a killer was simply a killer, so this marked the beginning of criminal profiling.

On My Block – Season 1

You have: a rough neighborhood, gangs, and 4 teenagers going through high school, friendship, and love. And a pretty nice soundtrack to add!

Marseille – Season 2

The only French series I’ve watched and actually enjoyed (the first and second season) Funnily enough, this was a hit anywhere but in French. Was it because of the actors or the plot line? I have no idea! I personally liked it. The story is based in Marseille (shocking lol) and follows the story of its long-time mayor and the drama surrounding him and the city. It’s a political drama.

Here are some of the series I am currently watching:

Riverdale – Season 2

Two unfortunate things about this series. First, I can’t binge-watch because Netflix releases an episode per week only. Second, now-that-I-started-I-have-to-finish-it syndrome. First season was ok , the second season – blahhh! Now, I just want to be done with it.

Altered Carbon – Season 1

According to Wikipedia, this is « an American dystopian science fiction cyberpunk television series ». Whatever that means. It’s a little complicated to understand especially at the beginning, but once you’re in it, it definitely gets easier.

The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes – Season 1

I watched the first episode; the ones with the houses in the mountainside. Let’s face it – I’m never going to see these houses in real, I might as well do it on Netflix. ;p

La Casa de Papel – Season 1

Everyone is talking about this series and how great it is. Well, they weren’t lying. Too bad, I haven’t had enough time to finish it. Nevertheless, I have to hurry up – second season was released yesterday I believe.

Most movies I watch on Netflix lately are family-oriented and feel-good movies for Baby Girl and I. We try to watch at least one movie per weekend.

The Interview

Obviously, I didn’t watch this one with Baby Girl. Nothing great here. Next!

Here are some of the series we’re planning to watch in April:

  1. Manhunter
  2. Peaky Blinders
  3. Collateral
  4. Arrow

What do you think? Any suggestions? 🙂
