Hey, you! It only means one thing when it's Sunday and it's the one weekend of the month that the Husband isn't working. S-U-N-D-A-Y B-R-U-N-C-H. Ah ah .. 😋😋

We have our usual Sunday brunch fares - pancakes, waffles, avocado toast, ... I had the ingredients to make our usual Avotoast, but I thought I would skip the pancakes and waffles for something new.

Baby Girl and I started with the Nutella Croissant. We actually have a bakery across the street from our home. They have the best Nutella Croissants ever! We love getting some especially on the weekend, but since the lockdown we've only been there once. So I thought to myself, why not try something like it. Obviously, I knew it wouldn't be the same, but we had so much fun making them! We just got a store-bought puff pastry, which we sliced using a pizza slicer, put a teaspoon of Nutella, rolled them into a crescent, and brushed with egg wash. Finally they went into a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

While the Nutella Croissants were in the oven, we attacked these Strawberry-Cream Cheese Pastries. This time, the Husband joined the fun. They took care of preparing the puff pastry, while I prepared the cream cheese and sugar mixture. These babies went in the oven for 20-25 minutes as well. The Husband absolutely loved this!

As much as trying new recipes is fun and exciting, we also like our family faves. This Avocado, Scrambled Eggs, and Smoked Salmon Toast is definitely our brunch go-to. Sometimes, I'll switch the smoked salmon for bacon, but we have a preference for the smoked salmon. Funny story - I was bummed the day before about not having tomatoes to roast them for brunch. The Husband was nice enough to comfort me, but I was not feeling well. I swear it's true. 😂😂 Then as I was going to sleep, I remembered I had leftover tomato sauce, which I thought I could reheat for our toast. For a quick moment, the Husband looked at me like I was insane. But I didn't care. I could finally go to sleep without stressing out. Haha.

So there's our Sunday Brunch. With some orange juice and Dalgona coffee.

I swear that when this pandemic is definitely over and done, I'm gonna have a huge-ass crazy brunch with friends and family at home! 😊😊

xoxo Elodie
