Mother's Day 2020

Hey, you! I just had one of the best days ever. The Husband and Baby Girl made sure I had an amazing day. I can't even express in words how lucky I am to have them in my life! ❤️❤️

My day started with a Nutella Croissant which the Husband bought early morning. We have a bakery right across the street from our apartment and they make the best Nutella Croissant ever! Since we moved in our current place, we've been having this on our special days. it's become a sort of tradition, I guess.

The Nutella Croissant did not come alone. I got some beautiful pink peonies (my favourite flowers) and pink/white roses. I got some roses last week that were still good so I decided to keep them of course. I've never really been a flower kinda girl, but I have to admit that it makes me happy to see all of these beauties in our family room.

That wasn't it though. There was still one more trick up the Husband's sleeve. He got me a foot spa! So cool!! I have to admit that I was thinking of getting one for Baby Girl because she loves that. I guess the Husband hit two birds with one stone, well two gals. 😂😂

No special occasion goes unnoticed especially in our kitchen. So, after a nice long foot spa and a niceeeeee foot massage courtesy of the Husband, it was time for me to put on my apron and prepare a super special lunch.

I was in the mood for some delicious Cote de Boeuf, Gratin Dauphinois, and Buttered Peas.

I thought I had bought some rosemary, turns out it was tarragon. I used it anyway and even added a whole head of garlic.

Gratin Dauphinois is one of the easiest and tastiest French dish ever. It goes so well with meat. I especially love the smell and taste of milk/cream + garlic!

Exactly what I was craving for. Did I mention that the beef comes straight from my brother-in-law's farm?

Just when I thought this was it, I got a final surprise. Beauty essentials from my favourite The Ritual of Ayurveda collection of Rituals. The scent is absolutely crazy! And I just love it for Spring-Summer. I find it hard to describe the scent but the ingredients are the Indian Rose and Himalaya Honey.

We then spent the rest of the day at our friends' house and they have the loveliest cats ever. This baby was super friendly!! 🥰🥰

If you ever read this, THANK YOU for making this day super special for me. I am a very lucky wife and mother. I know that this is a commercial holiday and I have a special thought for all the women that are going through difficult pregnancies at the moment, women that are having difficulties trying to have a child, and women who don't want children. It was definitely difficult for me to have a child, so I know the kind of pressure one can suffer from. Pressure from others, but pressure from your own self. Do not let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't do.

xoxo Elodie
