Hello, you! Tell me – what do you think of Amazon Prime Video?
I was recently talking to some of my engineering trainees about series and a couple of them expressed how much they loved Netflix. Surprisingly, when I mentioned Prime Video a lot of them weren’t as enthused anymore. Then I suddenly remembered that in fact, I don’t even watch that many movies or series on Prime Video either. I paid the 49 Euros subscription fee to have the 1-day delivery advantage, but truthfully I didn’t even bother to check out the other advantages. Did you know there is also unlimited music and books? Yeah, apparently. ?
Anyways, I decided to check out what was on Prime Video. Some nice stuff, a little of nah, and a bit of blahs. But the Husband and I did manage to finish one series, The Widow.
The Widow. First of all, I have to admit that I decided to watch this because of Kate Beckinsale. I’ve been a fan of hers ever since Pearl Harbor. There is just something about her facial expression – so emotional!
I’m not going to go through the whole story here. No spoilers (which might be difficult if I want to talk about what I thought of the series). To begin with, it is sort of a mystery-thriller, with lots of intrigues and twists. There are no dragging scenes where I just wanted to zap and go quickly to the next. There was none of that. But … the main problem that I had was with the ending. The way I felt was « Wait, we went through all of that for that? » Something just didn’t feel right, I guess. I felt like there was such a huge build-up for …. that.
