A year ago, we welcomed the newest member of our family,Baby L. He is the first son of my niece and her husband. And he gave me the greatest pleasure of coming to the world on the eve of my birthday. It was the best birthday gift ever to know that he was here safely and his mother too!
Today, our family gathered to celebrate his first birthday at my niece’s house. They live about 50 kilometers away from us. Although I was a little stressed at first because it had snowed during the night, the roads were perfectly cleared. The drive went extremely well and we took the opportunity to sing Christmas songs on the top of our lungs.
Lunch was wonderfully delicious. Champagne, Foie Gras, Salmon Toasts, Beef Bourguignon, Spaetzle, and Birthday Cake. What more can one ask for, right?
It’s always a great moment when the family gets together, especially when it’s for happy moments like this. Or moments when I persuade my niece’s husband to test his new game, Pie Face. It was also his birthday that week and we gave him this and a new sweater.
In a week, we will be back here for Christmas. I can’t believe how quickly the month of December is going!
