Hey, you! ☺️
Oh my gosh, I can't believe I didn't tell you that the Daughter and I had a haircut the other day. Shoulder-length baby! And a cute curtain bang for the Daughter. 😍
We had a lot of things to do, but one thing kept us home. We started watching Lord of the Rings last night! And we couldn't imagine going to my sister's not having finished the 3 films so we binge-watched. Hahahaha.
This means that we only left the house at around 2pm today with a long to-do list. How we were able to finish everything I will never know. Oh wait, we put off some stuff to tomorrow morning. Hahaha. There was no way in hell we would have been able to squeeze things in, especially because we kept adding stuff to the list.
First things first, we dropped our Christmas homemade goodies to some of our friends. I wished I had taken a nice proper photo, but sadly no. In the rush of things, I completely forgot to. But basically, we made festive chocolate bark and chocolate desert rose. We also included our annual Christmas family card. Everyone loved it!
Then we needed to get tested. We are fully-vaccinated and so is my family. Most of them even got their booster already! But we were spending the holidays with a few seniors and I didn't want to take any chances. So we got tested and thankfully the results came back negative.
Next, and this one was unexpected, the Husband wanted to go shopping for clothes for ... me! He offered me a surprise shopping spree and I could hardly refuse such offer. So off we went to get several winter sweaters, pants, and even a brand new coat! I must have done something good lately to be spoiled this way because this rarely ever happens. The Christmas spirit must have gotten into him! 😂😂
And finally it was time to go to the restaurant for our last family mini-celebration. We went to Feel Sushi in Moulins-les-Metz. About a month ago, a trainee of mine mentioned this place and I've been curious about it ever since.
It's not your typical Asian eat-all-you-can restaurant. It's not a buffet-style, instead you are given a menu and you can order from the menu as much as you want and as many times too! The only condition is that you have to finish it all - no waste allowed! But that's a given, right?
We had a really good meal. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They even offered us a shot of sake at the end of the meal, which I personally refused, but the Husband was happy to take.
We had a Sushi Boat which was comprised of fresh and delicious sushi, maki, and sashimi. We also had fried rolls, steamed dumplings, grilled meat and seafood. The dessert was displayed as a buffet. I didn't have tummy space for anything but fresh fruits. Overall, it was a great experience. We will come back for sure!
After dinner, we still had to drop off some treats to friends until we finally decided to call it a night and go home. That was before we passed in front of the city's train station and saw they had a light show of some kind. Naturally we took a couple of minutes to admire it.
We're leaving tomorrow after lunch to my sister's. Christmas celebration is just a hair's breadth away. How exciting!
