My Next Read ...

Updated: May 18, 2023

Hey, you! 📚

I am so happy because I am almost done reading The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake, which is perfect for our book club discussion in two weeks.

Dark Academia is a term I had never heard of before I read The Atlas Six. 😆😆

According to Wikipedia, it is an internet aesthetic and subculture concerned with higher education, the arts, and literature, or an idealised version thereof. Yeah uhh ... Whatever that means. Hahaha. By the way, there is a second and third book which I think I will most probably read, just not now. I need a break.

I need a break - but not from reading! I love when I am almost done reading a book because it makes me think of my next one already. So, here are the books I was considering - at this point, I just need to set my mind on one.

"The thought-provoking and timely new novel from Melissa de la Cruz, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Alex & Eliza: A Love Story, will have you crying with Jasmine as she finds out she’s undocumented – then cheering her on as she fights to stay in the country she loves. "

Melissa de la Cruz is a Filipina-American author and I've been wanting to finally read a book of hers!

"Perfect for fans of Me Before You and One Day—a striking, powerful, and moving love story following an ambitious lawyer who experiences an astonishing vision that could change her life forever."

Admittedly, I don't know how this book made its way to my wishlist, but it sure does sound like something I would like to read!

“Beautifully written and incredibly funny, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine is about the importance of friendship and human connection. I fell in love with Eleanor, an eccentric and regimented loner whose life beautifully unfolds after a chance encounter with a stranger; I think you will fall in love, too!” —Reese Witherspoon

I've heard of this book for many years and I think it's time I should finally read it!

A gripping novel about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous breakup—from the author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Malibu Rising, and Carrie Soto Is Back.

I absolutely love The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I loved the story, the characters, and the writing style. I want to read another book from Taylor Jenkins Reid so that I can officially say I love this author! ❤️

The first in a spicy and unforgettable rom-com duology from #1 New York Times bestseller and tik tok favorite Tessa Bailey, in which a Hollywood “It Girl” is cut off from her wealthy family and exiled to a small Pacific Northwest beach town... where she butts heads with a surly, sexy local who thinks she doesn’t belong.

Another book which I don't know how it made its way to my Wishlist, but I'm in the mood for a rom-com at the moment. I'm also hoping it will be put me in the mood for summer.

Which one do you think I should read next? Do you have any other recommendations?

xoxo Elodie
