Wow, I am exhausted from our day yesterday! We spent the day in Nancy, France to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Our daughter was part of the dragon dance and we were very proud of her! We took the 7:30am train, arrived in Nancy at around 8:30am, then immediately S was busy with rehearsal. The dragon dance was scheduled at 12noon and 3pm and inside the city hall, there was an exhibition as well as stalls. A lot of volunteers were there to talk about various Asian sports, activities, arts, including our daughter's school since they offer Mandarin Chinese class.
We enjoyed our day very much, albeit it was a bit long and we were under the rain. The ceremony celebration was amazing. Since S was a volunteer, she was given free lunch, so the Husband and I decided to have lunch at an Asian buffet. I'm not a big fan of buffets, but the Husband loves it! It's mind-boggling to see how much he eats! Hahaha And he never puts on weight! The world is unfair. 😬 We also had breakfast at a café in Place Stanislas. Surprisingly, it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. Oooh I probably should write about it more here.
I'm pretty excited for this week as it is Mardi Gras this Tuesday, so I'll be making some Beignets. I have a really nice recipe from my great-aunt, but I'm afraid I won't be able to film this recipe and post it online on time. I don't even know if I'll have time to make some actually. Otherwise, I'll buy some at the boulangerie. And then on Wednesday, it's Valentine's Day. I don't have any plans yet, but I was thinking of getting our meal from Picard France. We'll see.
